Search, recovery & boat checks

Tauchwelt focuses on three core areas: searching for lost objects underwater, recovering suitable objects, and inspecting and documenting visible areas on boats and at berths.

Search operations

Lost something underwater? We search systematically.

Whether it is a phone, keys, jewellery, equipment or another object: a good underwater search starts with the most accurate possible information about the last known location.

  • Assessment of location, depth, visibility and access
  • Planning a sensible search pattern
  • Searches in suitable lakes and waters in Vienna and Lower Austria
  • Prior coordination if permits or consent are required

More on underwater search, a phone lost in a lake and keys lost in a lake. Regional: underwater search in Vienna and underwater search in Lower Austria.

Recovery

Locate, assess, recover safely.

Once an object has been located, we check whether it can be recovered safely. Heavy objects such as anchors have different requirements than a phone, keys or jewellery.

  • Recovery of objects after a feasibility check
  • Search and recovery after checking position, weight and safety
  • Safety takes priority over recovery

Boats & marinas

Visual inspections on boats and at berths.

For visible issues, rope contact or an inspection below the waterline, the specific assignment is coordinated in advance. Scope and execution always depend on access, safety, permissions and technical feasibility.

  • Visual inspections of boats, propellers and accessible areas
  • Removing rope or debris from the boat propeller
  • Propeller repairs by arrangement
  • Boat cleaning: hull cleaning underwater
  • Jetty cleaning underwater
  • Underwater photo and video documentation by arrangement
  • Recurring, pre-arranged inspections for marinas & berths

Costs

What does an underwater search cost?

A ring two metres from a jetty is a different assignment from an object lost in a large, poorly defined area. These factors determine the effort:

  • Travel and location
  • Water depth, visibility and bottom type
  • Size and accuracy of the search area
  • Required search, documentation or recovery equipment

After our transparent initial assessment, you decide for yourself whether an assignment makes economic sense.

FAQ

Good to know before an enquiry.

Which objects can be searched for?

For example smartphones, keys, rings, jewellery, equipment, anchors and other suitable objects. Whether an assignment makes sense depends on location, depth, visibility, bottom type and access.

How accurately do I need to know the loss point?

The more accurately the better. A GPS point, distinctive spots on the shore, photos, the distance from the jetty or shore and the estimated depth help enormously.

What does an assignment cost?

The effort depends on travel, depth, search area, required equipment and the task. A serious price can only be given once location, depth, search area and task are known.

Do you also work for boat owners and marinas?

Yes, for suitable visual inspections, photo/video documentation and coordinated underwater tasks. The specific scope is checked in advance.

Where does Tauchwelt operate?

The focus is on Vienna and Lower Austria. Other locations are arranged individually depending on the task and effort.

Which information helps with the initial assessment?

Please name the water or berth, the most precise point possible, the approximate depth and a short description of the object or task. You can send photos and map screenshots directly with your enquiry.
